Frans van der Aa started to build his first diatonic accordion in August 1981, at which time he lived in Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands. The First 11 years he built his accordions only as a hobby.
In 1989 Frans developed his new model accordion the “COMPACT”, little from format and with better technical performance.
Stops behind the button board and bass side, changed with a thump. Aluminium mechanics and possibilities of up to 16 basses.
Later in 1992 Frans moved to a better location in Heeze near Eindhoven, where he built his accordions for about 14 years, he had a very good time there and made a lot of accordions
To enable him to more easily make better accordions, in 2006 Frans made a huge step to go to Colombia. After 2 and a half years in Bogotá with an idea and more money, he went back to his roots in the Netherlands.
In his new location in Geldrop he restarted his accordion business. Model COMPACT was from the beginning his parade horse.
Now there is also his model CONDOR III special for the Vallanato and TexMex music, formed in Bogotá Colombia. Frans has already started his new model: COMPACT III EXTENSION 3 rows, 3 voices, 34 buttons, 11+12+11 buttons, 12 basses. Format 165 x 310 mm.
