About Director's welcoming address
The Contemporary Accordion Museum is our new educational project dedicated to a wonderful musical instrument with a vivid past and a vibrant present. During its one-hundred-fifty-year life, the accordion has won people’s hearts across the world. Its expressive sound has easily integrated in various musical genres. Today accordions are manufactured in the four corners of the Earth and in every corner they have unique sound qualities. Exterior design is as diverse for many craftsmen decorate their instruments with precious materials and elaborate accessories putting all their love and care into every single detail. Even today, accordions are predominantly handmade because experts believe it is the only way you can impart a soul to a common squeezebox.
Our museum is the best place for hopeless romanticists sincerely devoted to music! Here you will be pierced with a fresh perception of the traditional accordion sound; your notion of sound will be broadened to an unprecedented extent of musical imagery processing.
Establishing this new museum, we are guided by the invaluable experience accumulated labouring over our firstling, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. We are bursting with plans and ideas about how to make this world a better and a more beautiful place.
